The History of Kush Cannabis Strains

Kush Strains
The popular kush strains originate from the fertile mountains and valleys of the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Part of the Himalayan mountains, this region for centuries has cultivated indica dominant cannabis, some of the worlds finest plants. The 1960's and 70's brought travelers from far and wide to bring back seeds, including the members of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love, based in Southern California. In 1973 Afghanistan made the sale of hashish illegal.

The shorter times of the indica genetics allowed from shortened flowering times helping people to grow further north and grow their own. Kush is known for it's citrus flavor with a skunk odor, a high potent couch lock effect that lasts long, great for nighttime.(Source) Terpenes which are the flavor and smells that attribute to the cannabis also add to how the medicinal values take effect. Kush varieties have varied terpenes, showing that the hybrid pairing makes them all different and unique. Here are some popular Kush Strains that Outliers Collective have had in inventory and our patients have enjoyed:
